Ridership Concept

  • Red lines¬†arrive every 15 minutes or better
  • Blue lines¬†arrive every 30 minutes
  • Light Blue lines arrive every 60 minutes
  • Tan lines arrive every 90 or 120 minutes

This is a map of the Ridership Concept for The COMET.

In this Concept, many routes would arrive every 15 minutes midday. People would have shorter waits all day on weekdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, and not just at weekday rush hour. Nighttime and early morning routes would also run more frequently than in the existing network.

However, adding this much service to so many routes means fewer routes can be run with the same amount of money. Some places would lose service in this Concept.

More people would ride the buses because many routes arrive every 15 minutes, all week long, making connections much easier and getting people to more jobs, faster.

Higher frequencies

More routes would come every 15 minutes, all day.

Seven-day service

Several key routes would run more frequently on weekends. They would run close to places with the most people and jobs.

Faster transfers

Transferring between routes, and between bus and rail, would be quicker thanks to new frequent connections.

Some coverage loss

Adding so much service to so many routes means fewer routes can be run with the same amount of money. Some places would lose service in this Concept.
